A series of Workshops by the ISCM team organised in New Delhi by the Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness The Dalai Lama

It was indeed a great opportunity to be proud of when Yogacharya Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani and Yogacharini Dr Sangeeta Laura Biagi were cordially invited for a 3-day intensive program on “A Healing Journey with Yoga — Ancient wisdom for our times” organized by the Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness The Dalai Lama at the India International Centre, New Delhi.

On the 12th, there was a public lecture on: “Healing through sacred sounds” that was presented at the India Habitat Center and attended by more than 100 participants who enjoyed the interactive session that brought cheer to all.

On the theme of “Yoga Unveiled: A Series of Workshop Modules”, Day 1 (13th July) included sessions on “Yogic Way to Healing Mind & Body”, “Pranayama: Harnessing the Power of Breath”, “For Happy & Healthy Golden Years: Yoga, Geriatrics and Chair Practices” and “Managing Grief & Embracing Morality: Mantra, Mudra and Yoga” at the Seminar Halls of the Kamaladevi Complex, India International Centre throughout the whole day. A special public lecture on “Demystifying Yoga: Beyond Asana & Pranayama” was held witnessing Dr Ananda and Dr Sangeeta in conversation with the world renown Shri Rajiv Mehrotra, Trustee and Secretary, Foundation for Universal Responsibility of HH The Dalai Lama at the C.D. Deshmukh Auditorium in the evening.

Both Shri Rajiv Mehrotra, who is a world famous writer, television producer-director, documentary filmmaker and personal student of the Dalai Lama and his loving Dharmapatni Dr Meenakshi Gopinath who is a noted educationist and social change maker had the good fortune of studying in Ananda Ashram with Param Pujya Swamiji and our beloved Ammaji in the 1980s, His beautiful and evocative documentary on MUDRAS showcased the use of gestures across diverse traditions. They continue to share their love with Ananda and family and had organized this event with their young and dynamic team at the Foundation.

Day 2, on the 14th featured interactive modules on “Yoga Therapy for Lifestyle Disorders”, “Music as Medicine: Nada Yoga Chikitsa” and “Trusting Our Voice: Wholistic Health for Women”. The 2nd weekend of July at New Delhi became the Yogic hotspot of the Gitananda Family members in town to get back in touch and interact with the living Acharya of the Guru Parampara. This divine event hosted hundreds of participants from around the world and of various professional backgrounds.
